A Day of Joy and Togetherness: The Kabumbu Festival

The Kabumbu Festival, organized on November 30th by the Centre d’Éveil de la Femme (CEF) at the prestigious Mazembe Stadium, was an unforgettable day where sport, joy, and teamwork came together to celebrate football and the values it embodies.

Over 200 children, accompanied by their families, experienced a unique event filled with moments of sharing, encouragement, and self-achievement.

This event was more than just a sports gathering. It was an opportunity for the children of the Kabumbu Football School to showcase their progress, play with passion, and reinforce essential values such as respect, fair play, inclusion, and solidarity.

Amid enthusiastic cheers from parents and friends, every goal, every pass, and every smile radiated the spirit of the festival: to unite, inspire, and grow together.

A highlight of the day was the presence of the TP Mazembe women’s team champions, who proudly shared their CAF Women’s Champions League victory and inspired the younger generation. With great generosity, they handed medals to each child, symbolizing the dreams and hope that sport can bring. The children, with shining eyes, received these medals as a reminder that with hard work and perseverance, anything is possible.

Beyond the matches, the festival became a true moment of gathering for families, where laughter, encouragement, and applause echoed throughout the day.
