The Vroom Mama! Project kikcs off!

On Saturday, March 1st, under a radiant sun, a memorable day took place at the National Institute for Professional Preparation (INPP), where the Vroom Mama! project was successfully launched by the Provincial Minister of Finance.

This launch represented much more than just the beginning of training; it was also a celebration of the strength and resilience of women. On this first day, which marks the beginning of a beautiful adventure and the first day of Women's Month, 300 women ranging from 18 to 50 years old participated in the launch of the test organised to select the project participants.

Vroom Mama! was designed to promote the empowerment of these Congolese mothers by preparing them for rewarding and stimulating careers in the field of driving light vehicles, machinery, and heavy goods vehicles and by facilitating their integration into the transport sector.

With palpable energy, the participants shared their enthusiasm and determination to succeed, while others expressed their gratitude to the organisers of this initiative.

The project, carried out in collaboration with Enabel, the Haut-Katanga Resource Centre (CdR), the National Institute for Professional Preparation (INPP), the Federation of Congolese Enterprises (FEC), and the WomenUp association, aims to break down cultural stereotypes by supporting women in vulnerable situations towards stable and rewarding jobs in the transport sector while developing their technical and transversal skills.

Launched in Lubumbashi, a strategic center of the mining industry in Haut-Katanga, in a context where the transport sector remains highly male-dominated, this project is a strategic lever to combat gender inequalities and promote a more inclusive development model.
