An Enriching Conference for the International Breastfeeding Day

On August 1st, in celebration of International Breastfeeding Day, CEF organized an engaging conference in collaboration with the NGO Partage Attitude.

International Breastfeeding Day, part of World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7), focuses on encouraging breastfeeding and improving the health of babies around the world. It raises awareness about the benefits of breastfeeding, which include optimal nutrition for infants, enhanced immune system, and strengthened mother-child bonding.

Dr. Belodie Kitenge, ultrasound doctor of the NGO Partage Attitude, captivated the audience with a discussion on the ten key benefits of breastfeeding, a vital topic for the Ruashi community, which has a high birth rate.

The event was a resounding success with active participation from 22 women from the Ruashi suburb, 4 from the city, and journalists from RTNC and RCKA. The interactive conference also highlighted CEF’s activities.

Speaking on behalf of the attendees, Madame Amisi Zabibu Gracia emphasised the need for more educational activities in Ruashi, where essential knowledge is often lacking. The participants expressed their enthusiasm for greater involvement in future CEF initiatives, feeling honoured by their invitation.

CEF is committed to continuing its work in raising awareness and educating, strengthening ties with the Ruashi community, and underscoring the importance of breastfeeding and community education.
